The North Texas Section's web hosting service provides access statistics about visits to various pages of our site. Our server collects only the usual information sent to all Web site servers by your browser.
Our web server logs and provides the following information about your access to our site: It reports the domain or IP address which requested access, the time of the access, and what pages on our site were accessed. If you clicked on a link on another Web site in order to reach our site, the name of the page on that site where you found the link is reported. If you used a search engine to find our site, the terms for which you searched are reported. Finally, the name and version of the browser or "user agent" that you used to access our site is reported.
This is the only information collected about you - or rather - about your computer. It is used only to make decisions about the design of the pages on our site, so that the site is usable by the highest possible number of people using the widest possible range of computers, monitors, browsers, and operating systems. No personal information is collected, nor is it available to me; Your "username", "account name", password, e-mail address, name, etc., are not visible to me or to anyone else.
We use some of the above information to decide how best to invest our time keeping this site registered with the various search engines, what keywords to emphasize on our site to make it easier for people using a search engine to find us, how often to update the site, etc.
By using the access counts on various pages of our site, we can determine which pages are most and least popular. This helps us to decide which pages to focus on, and which pages don't need much attention (or could be deleted).
Our Web site does not require cookies, Java, or JavaScript to function. If you wish to disable JavaScript and/or cookies, go ahead - the site will remain fully functional, except that a few minor features may not be available.
